Known as the Disston Six Ton Tractor, this obscure vehicle was developed during the 1930s by the Disston Safe Company. This vehicle was built on a Caterpiller tractor (model 35 or 40) ("Afghanistan."). Like the T1 Cunningham, a competing design, this vehicle featured a rear mounted 37mm main armament and a .30 secondary armament; the initial design only had a .30 armament. Roughly 36 of these were made, with 16 going to the USMC, the US Army having rejected it ("Afghanistan."); and the remainder being sent to Afghanistan ("Light Tanks").
