The Tosan is a light tank native to Iran. The name Tosan or Towan means Wild Horse or Fury. The Tosan project stems from the mid 1990s and production began in 1997 in limited numbers; with mass production beginning in 2008. The Tosan is armed with a 90 mm main gun and Toophan missile launchers. It is believed that the basis for the Tosan project was the British FV101 Scorpion which [[Iran] possessed.
